Orgryte IS cancelled the derby against IFK Göteborg due to disorderly conduct. The match was stopped after 39 minutes and played out to a empty stadium the next day. Orgryte has opposed the idea of compensation. But consumer ombudsman Erika Herrlin believes that paying spectators may be entitled to compensation. - Generally, if you buy a service and it doesn't turn out as promised - then you always have the right to complain, to report the service. The service was not as it should have been. What you might be entitled to is either a price reduction or to get your money back, says Erika Herrlin. The decision to stop the match was made by Öis in agreement with the referee and match delegate. IFK Göteborg opposed the decision to stop the match and wanted to play on the same evening, Monday. They also wanted Öis to play on, but the police conditions were to empty the Blåvitt supporters' sector where the disorderly conduct occurred. The police did not think that the measures presented by Öis - more fire personnel and attempts to mask the crowd on the stands - were sufficient. - We all wanted to play on. But the conditions from the authorities, for us to be able to play on, felt suddenly impossible within the time frame we have on the sporting grounds, and to carry it out in a good way, said Björn Nilsson, security chief at Örgryte IS. A case of a stopped match exists from 2011, after Helsingborgs IF was awarded a 3-0 win against Malmö FF at Eleda Stadium. The match was stopped after 68 minutes due to disorderly conduct. Öis has now said that they will investigate the possibility of compensating paying spectators. - We have received emails with questions about possible compensation, mainly from ticket buyers on the away sector. These questions have been answered, and we have also informed about the agreement with IFK Göteborg, which means that the income from the away sector on the short side falls to them. But we have also said that we will investigate the possibility of compensating paying spectators, says Terje Johansson, chairman of Örgryte IS.
